My First Week
Hello lovely mothers & families,
This week was my first official week working as a mom’s assistant through Mom’s Relief. I’m a nanny, so the addition was not taxing or difficult, and I recognize that it is still a change from my normal routine. I had a lot of fun this week, so let me tell you about some of the exciting things I got to do for my new family.
On Monday, I grocery shopped and cooked/prepped meals for the week after spending the weekend looking up recipes and getting organized for my new family. I had several dinners that the family chose, but only ended up cooking one since I made a bit too much! Thankfully, they loved it! I will make sure to add more variety in smaller portions so they can experience more flavors this coming week.
On the menu:
Blueberry Parfaits with Honey Almond Greek Yogurt & Granola (either PB or Almond Butter)
Veggie Egg Bites with Ham & Cheese
Lemon Herb Orzo with Feta to make it a bit creamy
Ribeye Steaks
Roasted Veggies (Squash, Zucchini, Yellow, Orange, and Red Bell Peppers, & Red Onion)
Arugula Salad with Baby Tomatoes tossed in Lemon & Olive Oil
Lemon Feta Green Dressing made with fresh herbs, roasted garlic, and spinach
Snack Packs with:
feta stuffed olives
marinated artichokes
sundried tomatoes
hard cheese & Boursin
to be paired with charcuterie meats & assorted crackers.
Tomorrow, I will send out a menu for the family to choose this week’s dinners. I got some great feedback about the snack packs and egg bites, so I’ll be making changes to those to fit the family’s tastes better.
For errands this week, I went to Costco and HEB, picked up kids’ outfits for Christmas pictures, got new sports shoes for the kids, and also picked up uniforms for school for the kids.
I also began organizing the pantry. My first steps were to clear as much out as I could to check dates, organize by similar items, and figure out next steps. The plan is to organize the pantry both functionally and aesthetically, so next week I will be headed to the container store for items to get the pantry looking beautiful. I also plan to refill staples that are needed for when I cook meals for the family.
This coming week, my big projects are meal prepping, pantry and fridge/freezer organization, as well as helping the family get prepped for their Disney Cruise! I’ll be helping them to put together Pixie Dust, outfits, necessities and more!
I’m so excited for the week to come!
